Our motivation to work in the field of public policy evolved from the initial work on medical emergency preparedness.
In 2014, the attention of our founders was drawn towards increasing fatalities that resulted from untimely response during medical emergencies. To improve the standards of medical emergency response andavoid preventable deaths due to emergencies, they designed, managed, and delivered a training and awareness program for medical emergency preparedness. This program wasdesigned to improve the Emergency Medical Response by implementing a training/certification program (specially designed for SAARC countries). Under this training program, they trained over 1200 people. This project provided our team with vast experience in training management and other information campaigns for public health.
The team then realized that other than the individual efforts, the role of policies is very crucial for achieving the objectives and bringing changes in the current system. While working on the emergency response project, we got a chance to understand the importance of policies. Scientific and strategic designing of the policies ensure the strategic, tactical, and operational success of any project.
Using our prior experiences and expertise, we at Ek-Pehel look forward to contributing to scientific and strategic designing and recommendations for modifying the policies
